Fermented Probiotics

Microbiologist Iichiroh Ohhira, Ph.D, combined an ancient Japanese fermentation process with modern technology to create a complete probiotic system that includes prebiotics, enzymes, bacteriocins, and trace amounts of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. The result is a potent fermented culture that is much more than a mere probiotic. Numerous studies have demonstrated this potent formula's beneficial impact on digestion and immunity.

Dr Ohhira's Probiotics by Botanica begins with 92 carefully selected fruits, vegetables, seaweeds, and mushrooms.

Each of these nutritious plants is tested for potency and purity, and tested for contaminants such as heavy metals or radiation.

These whole foods then go through a 3 year fermentation process, using traditional Japanese fermentation techniques. 12 beneficial strains of lactic acid bacteria are added throughout the process, including the highly therapeutic patented TH10 strain, discovered by Dr. Ohhira himself. In addition to lactic acid, 3 other organic acids (citric, formic, acetic) are also produced during the fermentation process.

This unique synergystic blend is then exposed to both heat and cold, strengthening the bacteria and ensuring that only the strongest survive. This means that the final product risks less degradation than most probiotics, and does not require refrigeration.

Once the process is complete, testing is performed to ensure the potency and purity of the final product. The resulting substance is encapsulated as a living matrix, in order to maximize the therapeutic effect in the body and to ensure the bacteria remain active until the expiry date on the label.
