Nettle Leaf

Urtica dioica

Stinging Nettle (leaf) is widely known for the rash it causes when it's fresh and it touches your skin. Once dry, it becomes a highly nutritious herbal food rich in chlorophyll, iron, magnesium, calcium, boron and carotenoids, and functions as an effective blood cleansing tonic. It is especially renowned as a strengthening tonic for the kidneys, skin, and upper respiratory tract. It is used for anemia and helps those who bruise easily. Nettle leaf has anti-inflammatory properties for arthritic conditions and it clears out uric acid in gout. It has antihistamine effects and it moderates allergic responses. It may also help with eczema, psoriasis, hives and other skin rashes. Stinging Nettle is native to Europe and is also found in North America.
