Fenugreek

Trigonella foenum-graecum

Fenugreek (seeds) naturally contains nutrients such as B vitamins, vitamin C, and beta carotene and other phytochemicals, which support healthy lactation for breast feeding moms. It is a warming, bitter herb that stimulates digestion, helping to reduce nausea, gas and gastric irritation. It is used to lower blood sugar in type II diabetes, decreases insulin resistance and lowers cholesterol levels. Fenugreek also helps to heal leaky gut syndrome and it binds to toxins in the gut for elimination. It may be used to reduce mucous in the sinuses and lungs, while reducing inflammation. Fenugreek is indigenous to the Mediterranean area and now primarily cultivated in India, China and the Middle East.
