The holiday season is a time to spend time with family and friends, an opportunity to give thanks for the fruits of the year and review our blessings. For many however it can also be a time of overindulgence, late nights and sluggish days, which often lead to anxiety, coupled with stress and sleepless nights.

Some simple survival tips for getting through the holiday season

  1. Daily exercise

Jump start your mornings with MOVEMENT; no matter how sedentary, social or how busy the rest of the day unfolds, your exercise has been completed! Walking, stretching, weights or running will assist greatly with mental stress, that oh-so-common sluggish fatigue experienced during the holiday season.

  2. Brush that dry skin.

Dry skin brushing is a great way to support lymphatic movement which acts is a filter for the immune system. The lymph removes debris from the body and assists with minimising edema (fluid retention and puffiness). In addition to daily movement of muscles, brush dry skin daily using a natural vegetable bristle brush. Vigorously brush in circular motions, starting from the extremities and working towards the heart, avoiding open skin wounds, inflammation or thin skinned areas.

  3. Eat your breakfast.

A morning meal will help to maintain healthy blood sugar throughout the day and ensure a sense of feeling full, minimizing over eating and provide needed extra energy to get through the daily activities. Steel cut oats is a favorite for supporting healthy nervous system or choose a morning smoothie and top it off with extra Organic Greens (which might be lacking during the holidays).

  4. Reach for your Bitters!

A useful aid for over eating, Digestive Bitters Compound can be used to combat indigestion often experienced at large festive meals and seasonal parties full of rich foods and holiday goodies. The Digestive Bitters Compound stimulates digestive function, minimizing feelings of bloating and encourages digestive juices to breakdown and better absorb food, increasing the production of hydrochloric acid, and encouraging the release of digestive enzymes. 5. Support your Liver.

The liver is responsible for breakdown and elimination of waste material and toxins from the body. There is nothing more taxing than excess alcohol ingestion during the holidays; add on rich meals and there is an excess load for the liver to break down and eliminate from the body.
